You need to try Microneedling!

What is Microneedling Collagen Induction Therapy (CIT)?

Collagen Induction Therapy aka Micro-Needling is a skincare treatment that uses an electrical device with 9-36 small needles to create small punctures in the upper layers of the skin. By creating small punctures, your skin is encouraged to start the natural repair process by sending fresh blood, nutrients, collagen and elastin to the face. The main components of the skin that give it a firm appearance and allow it to bounce back after being pinched are collagen and elastin. After your skin starts the repair process you skin will firm up and look more youthful.

What does CIT Microneedling Treat?

Microneedling is amazing for a variety of skin concerns! This targeted treatment is great for:

  • Acne Scars
  • Skin sagging and loss of firmness
  • Melasma and uneven skin tone
  • Wrinkles
  • Fine lines
  • Uneven Skin texture
  • Large Pores
  • Loss of collagen

What happens during a treatment?

Before your CIT begins your esthetician cleanses and de-greases your skin to remove all makeup, dirt and oil after a thorough skin analysis and consultation. Next, a numbing cream is applied to sensitive areas of the face while you relax in one of our treatment rooms for about 10 minutes. After that your esthetician will use a micro-needling device to go over your entire face and neck using specific patterns and techniques. If you have sensitive skin then the treatment may feel mildly uncomfortable. However, it is not painful. Finally, your treatment ends with an application of EGF or Peptide Serum your skin for maximum absorption.

At this point, you can head home and allow the treatment to do its magic! Before you leave your esthetician will give you specific after care instructions and product recommendations. We love enhancing the treatment with LED or a soothing hydro-jelly mask to get the most out of it.

How frequently can you have a CIT treatment?

There is minimal downtime with CIT. After treatment, your skin might be red for up to 4 hours and will feel slightly sensitive for the first 24 hours after treatment. We recommend CIT every 6-8 weeks. Although results are immediate and cumulative we recommend letting your skin heal for at least 6 weeks between treatments. Additionally, a chemical or enzyme peel is a great treatment in between CIT treatments.
